Ivy on a laptop and phone: an ideal client profile in the client's own words, the chat with Ivy, and a printed checklist for testing it

Most businesses have more than one kind of client, and they don't all decide the same way. Some just skim. Others want proof, or weigh up every pound before they decide. When your writing tries to suit all of them at once, it tends to suit none of them.

Ivy takes one client type at a time. About ten minutes of questions, answered in your own words, and you finish with a profile of how that client decides and the words they use for their problem.

This profile is a starting point. Test it against real conversations with your clients.

From Ivy's instructions

How it works

  1. Tell Ivy what you do, and which client you're describing today. It could be a programme, an offer or a kind of client.
  2. Answer her questions one at a time, including which of four buyer types fits them best: the Skimmer, the Sceptic, the Budget-Conscious or the Discerning Buyer.
  3. Get a plain-text profile in eight sections, ending with one practical step you can take this week.
IvyExample conversation
  1. Welcome, I'm Ivy. This takes about ten minutes. What do you do?
  2. I run a membership for wedding photographers.
  3. Which client are we describing today?
  4. Photographers in their first two years.
  5. Which of these types fits this client most? The Skimmer, the Sceptic, the Budget-Conscious or the Discerning Buyer.
  6. Budget-Conscious, definitely.
  7. Ideal client profile: new photographers 1Who they are 2What's keeping them stuck 3What they want 4How they decide 5What stops them saying yes 6Where they spend their time 7Their words 8Your next practical step Copy this into a document, labelled with the client type.

A few things you might not expect

  • Run it once for each client type, offer or course. Keeping each profile separate means the differences stay clear.
  • Ivy only uses your words. If something wasn't answered, the profile says "Not yet known" rather than guessing.
  • The "Their words" section quotes the language your clients use for their problem, ready for your next piece of writing.
  • Use first names or general descriptions only. Ivy doesn't need any client details you wouldn't want shared.
  • It builds the profile, not the sales page. Take the profile with you into whatever you write next.

Ivy asks.
You know your clients.

Where it lives

Ivy runs in your own AI account. Your answers stay in that conversation, and she doesn't keep anything between chats.

It works in Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini, and you'll get setup steps for each one.

Questions

How long does it take?
About ten minutes for each client type.
I have more than one kind of client. Which do I pick?
One at a time. Run the interview again for each client type, offer or course.
Will it make things up?
No. Ivy only uses what you tell her. Gaps are marked "Not yet known".
What if it doesn't work for me?
If it doesn't install, or doesn't do what this page says, email us within 14 days and we'll fix it or refund you.

Who's behind Ivy

We're Jacqueline Leake and Nina Mistry, the two halves of Meet Ada. Jacqueline is an AI specialist and trainer who spends her days inside clients' accounts, seeing what's sitting in their heads that should be written down. Nina builds the tech. She takes what Jacqueline pulls out of people's heads and turns it into tools that bloody work. Simple ones. The kind you'll actually come back to.
